Bruce has really grown into his big-boned frame — he’s filled out with solid muscle and carries himself like a mature, confident cat. He’s an excellent show cat, not just because of his looks, but because of how calm and unbothered he is no matter where we go. He travels extremely well and adjusts to new environments without any stress.

At home, Bruce is a total softie. He’s affectionate and sweet, but also pretty lazy — definitely more of a couch companion than a high-energy cat. He’s not very playful, but he absolutely lives for belly rubs. Seriously, he’s obsessed. His mellow, gentle nature makes him really easy to live with, and his temperament has stayed consistent from kittenhood to now.

Bruce is just one of those cats who’s low-maintenance in the best way — a big, lovable, easygoing potato of a cat.

Bruce’s kittens definitely take after him — especially when it comes to temperament. Depending on the mom, they tend to be big-boned, laid-back, and super into belly rubs just like their dad. Bruce’s genes are strong, and his personality really comes through in his offspring. These kittens are not the overly energetic or wild type. Sure, they have their playful moments, but they tire out quickly and usually prefer lounging on a cat tree or stretched out on the bed.

They typically have a soft, bunny-like coat (again, this can depend on the mom), and they’re just super easygoing overall. They’re great with other pets, adjust well to new environments, and usually travel without any issues — just like Bruce.

Size-wise, the boys can get pretty big — often in the 15 to 18 pound range — and even the girls are solid, usually around 14 to 15 pounds. Their personalities really help balance out a more playful mom, adding that calm, affectionate, mellow vibe. Depending on the match, some end up being full-on lap cats, while others are more the “next to you, not on you” cuddly type.
